How to prepare for your professional headshot
A quick guide for a successful outcome.
However you feel about having your photo taken, we want to make the most of this opportunity to show your best self.
Hair neat (Bonus points for having a blowdry beforehand - you will thank yourself for years to come.)
A bold lip is great if that fits with your style. Consider the image you wish to project to your clients; neutral makeup will highlight your best features and not detract from the message you want to convey to your audience.
Keep jewellery minimal, subtle and classic (we don’t want to notice it before we notice your face)
Clothing - small pops of colour are okay; however, stick to solid colours wherever possible, in classic business shades of blues, white, navy and black.
Jackets/blazers or a smart cardigan add interest and formality and breaks up the colour of the shirt or blouse.
Avoid short sleeves.
Avoid bold patterns and florals
Please visit the mirror before taking your photo and check your grooming.
Try to get a good night's sleep and stay hydrated.
Breathe and relax.
And then, break the rules. If you are your brand, then be playful and personal with your wardrobe. Consider making an appointment with a stylist or wardrobe consultant. It will pay dividends.
